PlayMakers Repertory Company proudly presents "Bewilderness," a PlayMakers commission and the second production in its 2018/19 PRC2 Kenan Stage series. Written and directed by Zack Fine, "Bewilderness" invites us into the upside-down, creatively chaotic world of a playwright inspired by and obsessed with the great American philosopher, Henry David Thoreau. In this madcap comedy, the famous cabin on Walden Pond plays host not only to Thoreau, but also to his brother, his mother, Ralph Waldo Emerson, some singing doctors, and a wisecracking woodchuck.
"Bewilderness" features David Adamson ("Leaving Eden," "Three Sisters"), Jeffrey Blair Cornell ("Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood," "My Fair Lady"), Geoffrey Culbertson ("Sense and Sensibility," "Twelfth Night") Rishan Dhamija ("Tartuffe," "Leaving Eden"), Ray Dooley ("Tartuffe," "A Midsummer Night's Dream"), Julia Gibson ("She Loves Me," "The Cake,"), Brandon Haynes ("Tartuffe"," PlayMakers Mobile "Macbeth"), Kathryn Hunter-Williams ("Skeleton Crew," "Tartuffe"), Dan Toot ("Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood," "Sense and Sensibility"), and Zack Fine ("A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Into the Woods").
Performances of "Bewilderness" will be at 7:30 p.m. nightly January 9 to 13, 2019, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on January 13, 2019. Following each performance will be a post-show conversation with the creative team and scholars and other creatives from throughout the Triangle.
