North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT) will present Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party," based on Joseph Moncure March's controversial poem about the Roaring '20s, for nine performances, March 7-23.

Director Craig Johnson calls "The Wild Party" a timeless morality play that warns against the dangers of focusing only on your own wants and desires. The story centers around a vaudeville dancer and a vaudeville clown who throw an extravagant party in an attempt to revive their deeply troubled and violent relationship.

"This show perfectly captures the tension and spirit of the jazz age, when society rebelled against the tight, puritanical restrictions of the Victorian era by drowning itself in excess," said Johnson. "The characters truly embody the eternal human condition-that conflict between desire for self and love of others-in which hope for the future springs from the depravity of the past."

NRACT's production of Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party" will run March 7-23. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Evening tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for students and seniors; matinee tickets are $12.

Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party" is suitable for mature audiences only.

NRACT is located in the Greystone Village Shopping Center at 7713-51 Lead Mine Rd. in Raleigh, NC.

The cast of "The Wild Party" includes Noelle Barnard Azarello (Nadine), Brent Blakesley (Phil D'Armano), Melanie Carviou (Kate), Roberto Diaz (Sam), Anne-Caitlin Donohue (Queenie), Julia Fair (Phryne), Bobby Furmage (Max), Jess Hill (Dolores), Josh Kellum (Oscar D'Armano), Lauren Knott (Mae), Alex Matsuo (Sally), Ben Muller (Black), Jon Todd (Eddie), Natalie Turgeon (Madelaine True) and Randi Winter (Jackie).
