Tickets for the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival's 35th MainStage season production of Romeo and Juliet and the annual production of A Christmas Carol will go on sale July 9 at the High Point Theatre Box Office. For the first time, NCShakes will offer a discount for educators that may be used for any performance.

Both productions will include public performances and special SchoolFest matinées with reduced pricing for school groups.

For its 35th season, NCShakes will present a contemporary spin on Shakespeare's best-known play, Romeo and Juliet, playing Sept. 9-30. Individual tickets range from $10 to $30, with discounts for seniors and students. Faculty and staff members of any educational institution through college may buy one Section A ticket and receive another free (must present school ID at the box office).

Tickets to the final dress rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m., are $10 for all seats; tickets are limited. Preview performances take place Sept. 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m.; tickets are $10-$12.

Additionally, two Community Performances will take place on Friday, Sept. 21, and Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $10-$15, or "pay what you can" one hour before the start of the performance.

NCShakes' 35th anniversary production of A Christmas Carol runs Dec. 6-23 at the High Point Theatre. Regular individual tickets are $15-32, with discounts for students and seniors. All tickets for the final dress rehearsal on Dec. 6 are $10, and all preview performance tickets are $12. Three Community Performances will take place, with $15 advance tickets, or "pay what you can" one hour before curtain.

For both productions, groups of 10 or more can receive discounted tickets. For SchoolFest matinées, tickets range from $10 to $15 depending on the performance. Prices include one adult chaperone per 15 students. For group or SchoolFest reservations, email sales@ncshakes.org or call 336-841-2273.
