North Carolina Theatre is proud to announce the newest cast member joining their anticipated revival of Into the Woods. Twan Baker will perform as the baby to the "Baker" and his wife at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, October 20-25, 2015.
While not a child actor, but rather a doll, Twan has extensive experience in the role and has a rather acclaimed career for an inanimate object. He first starred as the baby in Pittsburgh CLO's production of Into the Woods in 2009 alongside Hunter Foster and Brynn O'Malley, who started to care for the budding actor. Since then, he has appeared in regional performances of Fiddler on the Roof, All Shook Up, and other productions of Into the Woods. Most recently, he appeared in Sunday in the Park with George with Signature Theatre in Arlington, Va. in the fall of 2014. Twan's loving father, Foster, and stepmother, Jennifer Cody, continue to care for him.
"We are thrilled to feature such an incredible actor," Producer Carolee Baxter said. "He has so much experience for someone at such a young age. The cast and directors look forward to working with such a professional actor, and he will truly enhance North Carolina Theatre's production of Into the Woods."
For North Carolina Theatre's upcoming production of Into the Woods, Twan will work underneath the direction of James Brennan and will star alongside Jacquelyn Piro Donovan (Broadway: The Wizard of Oz and Les Miserables) as the Witch, Laurel Harris (Broadway/Tours: Wicked and Evita) as the Baker's Wife, and stepmother Jennifer Cody (Broadway: A Christmas Story and Shrek) as Little Red Ridinghood.
Additionally, North Carolina Theatre has recently announced Jamison Stern will now play the role of the "Baker." The full cast list includes Ashley Adamek, Jeff Aguiar, Abby Church, Pauline Cobrda, Nathaniel Hackmann, Kinsland Howell, Christine Hunter, Lisa Jolley, Emily Leonard, Dirk Lumbard, Ben Michael, Jeremy Morse, Lauren Satterwhite and Emily Thomas.
