McQueen & Company, founded by Diana Cameron McQueen, is producing the fan-favorite Sam Shepard play, Fool for Love, this June 8th-25th.

Directed by the favorite local director, Andy Hayworth (South Stream Productions' Time Stands Still and Copenhagen), and boasting an excellent cast, including Ryan Ladue (Glass Menagerie & Whipping Man, RLT), Diana Cameron McQueen (Venus in Fur, RLT; Queen Elizabeth I, The Lost Colony), J. Mardrice Henderson (Wait Until Dark, NCSU Theatrefest; Cloud 9, Tiny Engine) and Joe Christian (Weekend at Bernie's) Fool for Love promises to be the big hit of the Summer.

Playing at the Research Triangle High School Theatre in RTP for three weekends, the production will have an opening weekend reception (June 10th), a pay what you can matinee (June 11th), and a special livestream event for those unable to attend or living out of the area (June 17th, tickets available).

Not only a rarely seen treat from one of our most prolific and popular playwrights, but stunning experience about the vanishing myths of the modern west, mental health, and ultimately what we choose as family.

McQueen & Company is thrilled to bring this darkly funny and shocking play to local audiences. Fool for Love is about an impossible relationship, about two people who, for all their trying, can't seem to get love right, and all the the skeletons in their closet come tumbling out in the 90min duration. Sam Shepard's words are a thrilling treat for performers and audience members alike. Hang on to your seats, this is a wild ride!

The scene is a stark motel room at the edge of the Mojave Desert. May, a disheveled young woman, sits dejectedly on a rumpled bed while Eddie, a rough-spoken rodeo performer, crouches in a corner fiddling with his riding gear. When he attempts to console May, who is distressed by Eddie's frequent absences and love affairs, she seems, at first, to soften-but then she suddenly attacks him. As the recriminations pour out, and the action becomes at times physically violent, the desperate nature of their relationship becomes apparent-they cannot get along with, or without, one another, yet neither can subdue their burning passion.

Winner of the Obie Award. A critical and popular success, this masterfully constructed work brings searing intensity and rare theatrical excitement to its probing, yet sharply humorous study of love, hate and the dying myths of the Old West.
