William Peace University is pleased to host An Evening with Jed Bernstein, President of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. This one night event takes place in Raleigh on January 25th, 2016 at 7 pm at Burning Coal Theatre, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh.
Mr. Bernstein will discuss managing one of the largest and most prestigious theatre and performing arts organizations in the world. Mr. Bernstein is a seasoned theatre producer who formerly served as President of the Broadway League, the national trade association for the commercial theatre industry. He has produced Broadway hits including: Driving Miss Daisy with Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones, Equus with Daniel Radcliffe, and Oleanna with Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles. His revival of Hair won a Tony Award in 2009.
In January of 2014 Bernstein became president of the center, which presents some 3,000 programs, events, and initiatives each year. The center is home to the New York Ballet, The School of American Ballet, The Metropolitan Opera, The New York Philharmonic, Juliard, The Chamber Music Society, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
