The Deep Dish Theater Company will present an evening of readings on a valentine theme, "Heart Murmurs," on Friday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the event is a suggested donation of $5 or a non-perishable food item, with proceeds to benefit the Inter-faith Council's Food Bank.

As with previous short story evenings, "Heart Murmurs" will be curated by Dr. David Carr, who will join Deep Dish actors in reading a variety of stories and poems of a decidedly romantic-or perhaps hopelessly romantic-nature, including Shakespeare sonnets and more contemporary works.

"These evenings are always full of unexpected delights," said Deep Dish Artistic Director Paul Frellick. "David always assembles wonderful material, and it's always exciting to see what a good actor can bring out of even a familiar story."

The Deep Dish Short Story evenings are presented in conjunction with the Inter-faith Council Food Bank. Headquartered in Carrboro, The Inter-Faith Council for Social Service helps individuals and families achieve their goals by providing shelter, food, direct services, advocacy and information to people in need. Baking goods, canned meat, pasta and pasta sauce, canned beans, cereal, and rice are among the essential foods always needed at the IFC food pantry.
