Duke Performances is pleased to offer Burning Coal Theater patrons a 2-for-1 Discount to the presentation of The Abbey Theatre - the National Theatre of Ireland - and their acclaimed production of TERMINUS written and directed by Mark O'Rowe. (O'Rowe wrote HOWIE THE ROOKIE - a piece that Burning Coal, in collaboration with The Delta Boys, presented to great acclaim in 2008.) Presented at downtown Durham's historic Carolina Theatre, the play will run Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26, at 8 pm.

On The Abbey Theater & TERMINUS:

Since 1904 Ireland's National Theatre has shouldered the burden of staging the people's art in the land of Beckett, Synge, and Yeats, the modernist poet-prophet who founded it. The Abbey's tradition of fearless writing lives on in this "audacious" new work by O'Rowe (NY Times) which recounts angels and demons, passion and atonement, in three interlocked monologues that wrestle vivid, half-rhymed poetry from sublime vulgarity. "Gripping, grotesque, and deliriously good" (Sunday Tribune (UK)), O'Rowe's sordid epic pushes toward heaven but wallows in unholier places. This is The Abbey Theatre's first-ever appearance in NC and the first time they've toured the U.S. in a decade.

Get tickets at the Carolina Theatre box office via phone at 919-560-3030, the internet at www.carolinatheatre.org/stage/abbey-theatre-ireland, or in person at 309 W. Morgan Street.
