Deep Dish Theater Announces Discussions to Accompany World Premiere Production of A QUEER KISS

The Deep Dish Theater announces a slate of post-show discussions in conjunction with its world premiere production of A Queer Kiss, a play by Joel Drake Johnson, playing October 25-November 16 at University Mall. Each discussion will begin promptly after the performance. The play's running time is approximately 90 minutes, and patrons not attending the performance are welcome to enter the theater afterwards for the discussion. All discussions are free and open to the public.

The schedule of discussions is as follows:

Sunday afternoon, October 27: A conversation with dramaturg Lisa Keaton and director Paul Frellick

Sunday afternoon, November 3: A panel discussion with members of iNSIDEoUT, a youth-led organization striving to form, strengthen, & network Gay-Straight Alliances

Thursday evening, November 7: "Meet the Designers" - a discussion with the production team

Sunday, November 10: A conversation with playwright Joel Drake Johnson and cast members

Thursday evening, November 14: A discussion with Dr. Janie Long, Director of the Duke University Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity

In addition, Lisa Keaton will give a pre-show, "Meet the Play" talk on Friday, November 1, at 7 p.m., and the Deep Dish Book Selection, Allison Bechdel's acclaimed graphic novel Fun Home, A Family Tragicomic, will be discussed on Monday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Public Library.

A Queer Kiss follows two high school friends who share a seemingly innocent kiss that leads to a swirl of accusation, recrimination and fear. Performances begin Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday (matinee) at 2 p.m. Deep Dish is located in Chapel Hill's University Mall, on Estes Drive and US 15-501.

Tickets are $24 for adults and $21 for seniors, with a $2 discount for Wednesday and Thursday shows. Student tickets are $16 for all shows.
