DSI Comedy Theater is giving Triangle comedy audiences a chance to laugh off their collective Holiday stress with three holiday themed shows running regularly this December. On Friday nights beginning December 9, the theater showcases Home for the Holidays at 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday nights, YOUR F$CKED UP CHRISTMAS at 8:30 p.m. and Complimentary Gift RAP at 10 p.m. All shows are at DSI Comedy Theater, 462 West Franklin Street. Tickets for Home for the Holidays and YOUR F$CKED UP CHRISTMAS are $10. Complimentary Gift RAP is free. More information is available online at www.dsicomedy.com.
Friday nights DSI invites audiences to get out of the house and laugh at themselves and their families. Home for the Holidays is an interactive improv show all about the holidays (or anything to help forget about them). Scenes are based on audience suggestions, so every show could be about something personal.
The show runs: Friday, December 9, 8:30 p.m.; Friday, December 16, 8:30 p.m.; and Friday, December 23, 8:30 p.m.
Saturdays, DSI presents two new shows. At 8:30 p.m., DSI's Stranger Danger cast delves into the damaging (hilarious) world of your worst Christmas memories. YOUR F$CKED UP CHRISTMAS explores characters, events and motivations (intended & subconscious), this team of highly experienced improvisers takes rough memories of Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, etc. and turn them into something to celebrate.
Then at 10 p.m. DSI's weekend Versus cast guarantees a party every time with their holiday offering, Complimentary Gift RAP. For the month of December, this rap-focused show will take the suggestion of a holiday gift from the audience to inspire their scenes, raps, and dance breaks.

"Once the magic of Santa wears off the holiday season can be a mixed bag," explains Artistic Director Zach Ward. "This year will be especially interesting given the election, the state of the union and the potentially questionable views of the people passing you the cranberry sauce at the family dinner table. I'm proud that my comedy family can help relieve that stress and break the tension of coming home for the holidays, playfully satirizing family dysfunction."
