DSI Comedy Theater is giving audiences a reason to keep their cell phones on during live comedy with their newest endeavor, Social COMedia.

This tech-savvy show uses the smart devices of audience members to inspire improvised games and scenes. The show runs on Friday nights from May 4 to May 25 at 9 p.m. at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. Greensboro Street, located in the Carr Mill Mall between Elmo's and Southern Rail. Tickets cost $12 and can be found, along with more information, at www.dsicomedy.com.

Now that iPhones, Droids, and Kindles have become ubiquitous, the talented team of improvisers at DSI Comedy Theater have decided to move comedy into the 21st century. Using the cell phones, tablets and other devices the audience members have on them, the cast of SocialCOMedia creates short scenes and plays games like Blind Text and Buy The Full Game. One lucky audience member will have their music collection serve as inspiration for a longer improvised scene. If there's one thing that Team Mac and Team PC can agree on, it's this: Social COMedia is hilarious fun for all!

The Social COMedia cast includes Alex James, Aaron Keck, Vinny Valdivia, Matt See, Kyla Taylor, Ashley Melzer, and Kit FitzSimons. All are talented improvisers and members of DSI's Improv Slam, a modern improvised comedy battle. DSI has become the premier venue in The Triangle for improvised and sketch comedy.
