DSI Comedy Theater heats up the late Fall and early winter with a line-up of touring comics that is sure to appeal to every comedy fan. Friday, November 4, the comedy spot welcomes back North Carolina native Jane Borden for an evening of stand-up comedy.

Friday, November 18, DSI welcomes the four comedians of the Dankstop Comedy Tour. Two days later, noted stand-up comedian and writer Hari Kondabolu performs two set on Sunday, November 20. Friday, December 2, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver writer and stand-up comedian Josh Gondelman returns to DSI. Finally, Saturday, December 10, Lee Camp of Redacted Tonight, returns to Chapel Hill. Each show is at DSI Comedy Theater, 462 West Franklin Street. performance. Jane Borden

Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian and writer and comedy producer Jane Borden returns to North Carolina for one-night only and a workshop. Crown published Jane's first book, a memoir in essays titled I Totally Meant to Do That, in 2011. It was praised by Amy Poehler, Ed Helms, and Gary Shteyngart. Vanity Fair called it "affectionate" and New York Magazine deemed it "lowbrow-brilliant." The Brooklyn Paperannounced Borden as "the new 'It' girl." Her humorous writing has also appeared in The New York Times Magazine and Modern Bride, in two anthologies, on Saturday Night Live, and on VanityFair.com.

After improvising for many years at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Magnet Theater in New York, Jane started standup, cutting her teeth in Nashville, TN, as part Corporate Juggernaut, which was labeled "Best Comedy Collective" in the city by The Nashville Scene. Since then, in Nashville or on the road, she's been the featured act for Bo Burnham, Mike Birbiglia, Kurt Metzger, Joe DeRosa, and Billy Wayne Davis, among others. And she co-headlined a successful tour of the Southeast in 2012. As a comedic actor, she's appeared on Comedy Central and VH1. She's also played the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, the last five New York Comedy Festivals, and the last five North Carolina Comedy Arts Festivals. And she performs regularly at storytelling and stand up shows. Time Out LA said her act is "Not to be missed."

Jane has been writing for magazines and newspapers - covering arts & entertainment, lifestyle, and travel - for more than decade. Her travel writing for Metro Newspaper and for the Romantic Travel section of About.com (a New York Times company) have taken her to China, Switzerland, Israel, France, Italy, Baja, and Mexico. She was formerly an editor at Time Out New York (covering both theater and wellness), and has freelanced for the New York Daily News, Health, and Metro, among others. Brandon Scott Wolf is a Brooklyn-based comedian who was recently described by The New York Times as a "a droll one-liner comic with a passion for absurd comedic ideas" like his personal online dating site DateBrandonScottWolf.com: The #1 Online Dating Site for Brandon Scott Wolf. His writing credits include a staff writer position for NBC's Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris and a freelance contributor position forSaturday Night Live's Weekend Update. Derek performs at all the clubs and theaters in New York City, hosting his monthly showHeadliner's Ball, Humpnotize: The All Crowd Work Comedy Show and DUMBO Comedy. Derek combines stand-up, improv, crowd work and storytelling for one unique comedic perspective.

Anne Victoria Clark is a stand-up comedian and writer. She is currently a freelance contributor to SNL's Weekend Update and has written forFunny or Die. She is the creator of a website called Kate Middleton For The Win that was featured in Glamour, Vanity Fair, and other totally legit publications. Her jokes have been featured in books like Fart Sounds: The reason(s) why jokes are funny and A Twitter Year. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, she currently lives in New York City where she hosts The Pretty Late Show at The PIT. The Toronto Standard once described her by saying that she "isn't crazy... she's smart." So that was nice. Hailed as "One of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today" by the New York Times!

Hari Kondabolu

Hari Kondabolu is a Brooklyn-based, Queens-raised comic has done standup on the Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Live at Gotham and John Oliver's New York Standup Show. His Comedy Central Presents half-hour television special debuted on the network in February 2011. He was also a writer and correspondent for the Chris Rock-produced Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell on FX. In March 2014, Hari released his debut standup album Waiting for 2042 on indie-label Kill Rock Stars. He was NYU's APA Institute's "Artist in Residence" for the 2014-2015 Academic Year. In 2014, he was interviewed on Fresh Air with Terry Gross on NPR. A regular on the public radio circuit, he has also appeared on Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Studio 360, and Bullseye. He has also appeared on popular podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron, You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes and Too Beautiful to Live with Luke Burbank.

Josh Gondelman

Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and works as a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The writing team of Last Week Tonight recently won the 2016 Emmy for Writing for a Variety Series. Onstage, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. He takes topics from surprise parties to his experience teaching preschool and makes them all equally hilarious. This spring, he made his late night standup debut on Conan (TBS), and he can also be seen on the first season of Night Train With Wyatt Cenac (SeeSo). Josh's newest comedy albumPhysical Whisper debuted in March at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts (as well as #4 on the Billboard comedy chart) and stayed there for...well...longer than he expected, honestly.

Offstage, Josh has earned a Peabody Award and two Emmy nominations and one win for his work on Last Week Tonight. He is also the co-author (along with Joe Berkowitz) of the book You Blew It, published October 2015 by Plume. In the past, Josh has written for Fuse TV's Billy On The Street. His writing has also appeared in prestigious publications such as McSweeney's Internet Tendency, New York Magazine, andThe New Yorker. Gondelman is the co-creator and co-author of the Shorty Award-winning Modern Seinfeld Twitter account, and his own Twitter feed was named the year's best by Paste Magazine in 2015. The Ellen Degeneres Show took notice of Josh's joke writing skill and featured him as part of their "Tweetly Roundup." Additionally, Josh has performed at the Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO, and headlined at the Laugh Your Asheville Off Festival in Asheville, NC. More recently he has appeared in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and SF Sketchfest. His debut standup comedy CD, Everything's The Best was released in November of 2011 by Rooftop Comedy Productions.

Lee Camp

Lee Camp, of Redacted Tonight returns to Chapel Hill for One Night Only with Krish Mohan. Camp is the head writer and host of the international TV show Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp on RT America. He's a former contributor to The Onion, former staff humor writer for the Huffington Post, and his web series Moment of Clarity has been viewed by millions. Camp has toured nationally, performing his sharp brand of socio-political comedy for audiences in colleges, Comedy Clubs, theaters, and more! Redacted Tonight airs in homes across the country and the globe and won a 2016 Telly Award. Salon said the best satire this political season came from Redacted Tonight. Director Adam McKay said it was one of his favorite shows. Lee has been seen on Showtime's The Green Room, CNN, Good Morning America, as well as Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and much more.

Krish Mohan is a socially conscious Indian standup comedian and writer who regularly performs at small theaters, bars, Comedy Clubs, colleges and DIY venues across the country. He focuses on idea based stand-up tackling race, religion, immigration, relationships, political and social issues. With his quirky attitude, charming personality, and intelligent humor, Krish captivates and engages audiences of all backgrounds. Mohan has opened for nationally touring headliners (Stewart Huff, Lee Camp, Cameron Esposito, Henry Phillips, Dave Coulier, Dom Irerra) and has had a highly rated & hit IndyFringe & the Capital Fringe Festival show. He has been featured on NPR and much more.

In 2001, Dirty South Improv (DSI) produced the first North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival to give audiences and students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill the chance to experience workshops in the art of Chicago-style improvisation.
