Common Ground Theatre (www.cgtheatre.com) is a performance and teaching space located in west Durham, offering performing arts and educational groups a flexible, well-equipped alternative space. Owl Tree Theater for the People Presents: The Death of the Oldest Dog in the World
Written and directed by Cary, NC resident Jesse A. Lowe, The Death of the Oldest Dog in the World is an unexpected journey for the play’s quirky hero, Peter. Peter returns to his small Oregon coast hometown for a most unusual funeral - for the family dog. He discovers that he is under a curse, placed on him by the monster from under his childhood bed, which has rendered his life mediocre, and him, a failure. Aided by imaginary superheroes, Sasquatch, and spirit of his deceased pooch, Peter embarks on a quest to get his life back. Along the way, he rediscovers his hometown, reconnects with his estranged parents… and redeems his life.

Young, rich, and obsessed with death, Harold finds himself changed forever when he meets lively septuagenarian Maude at a funeral. Based on the movie, this stage adaption features Dorrie Casey as Maude and Ishai Buchbinder as Harold. Directed by Rachel Klem.
