DIRECT FROM BROADWAY, CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY debuted at the Broadway theatre in June 2008 and is the first show of its kind ever to perform on the Great White Way.  This ground breaking theatrical, acrobatic and musical adventure was this past summers must-see Broadway entertainment sensation for audiences of all ages. CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY now soars into the Durham Performing Arts Center on February 10, 2009 for one performance only!  Ticket prices for this “Broadway Bonus” spectacle range from $25-$55.  Tickets go on sale Monday, December 8, through the venue box office at 919-680-ARTS (2787) and online at www.DPACnc.com or www.ticketmaster.com.  Tickets will also be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Macy’s and Lowes Foods.  DPAC Broadway Carolina season ticket holders get the first chance to buy tickets during a special pre-sale.

“We are delighted to add this unique performance to the Broadway Bonus schedule,” said Bob Klaus general manager of the Durham Performing Arts Center.  “This show undeniably uses the imagination and will be an occasion of amazement by all in attendance.”

Created and directed by Neil Goldberg, CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is an exotic encounter inspired by nature’s unpredictable creations that are brought to life by an international cast of 25 soaring aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, acrobats, jugglers and musicians.  The astounding feats performed in this action packed Cirque Dream are enhanced with over 150 spectacular costumes and set in a fantastical jungle ignited by striking visual effects.   From the breathtaking aerial ballet of butterflies to the balancing giraffes, gigantic flowers and trees, this world-class explosion of athleticism, theatre and imagination will exhilarate the entire family.

The New York Daily News hails CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY “Colorful, imaginative and expertly performed…a fantasy worth indulging.”  USA Today proclaims it “Dazzling!  A fantastical tale of an enchanted jungle”, the Associated Press recommends it as “A family friendly, mind-bending extravagant spectacle” and the L.A. Times “Jaw dropping!  A whiz-bang family friendly spectacle.”

The Durham Performing Arts Center is currently under construction downtown in American Tobacco, adjacent to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.  On track to open in November 2008, the 2,800 seat theatre is home to big shows, concerts and Broadway Carolina, an authentic Broadway experience direct-from-New York.  Performances are booked through an operating partnership between Professional Facilities Management and the Nederlander Organization.  This spectacular cultural landmark will draw audiences to more than 100 shows each year with convenient access off I-40, I-540 and I-85, and more than 3,500 parking spaces within walking distance.
