Seussical is one of the most performed shows in America, but nobody's seen it quite like this before!
Cape Fear Regional Theatre is using their imaginations in a big way with its creative team partners 2 Ring Circus and director Melissa Rain Anderson to create Seussical the Musical as a fantastical, high-flying, musical with circus elements never seen before. CFRT is thrilled to be gathering this creative team once more. CFRT, 2 Ring Circus, and Anderson combined creative energies in the 2016-2017 season for the successful production of Disney's The Little Mermaid.
Seussical finds Dr. Seuss's best loved characters collide in this zany story about the sweet, good-natured Horton (Paul Urriola) and his quest to rescue the Whos. The mischevious Cat in the Hat (Ben Franklin) leads Horton to a flirty-birdie named Mayzie (Lani Corson). When Horton agrees to watch Mayzie's egg, she sings, dances, and soars away on a flying trapeze. This show is a powerful story about believing in yourself and accepting that what makes you different can make you marvelous!

Now in it's 56th season, Cape Fear Regional Theatre was organized in 1962 by a small group of local actors and friends who gathered to dream. Together they founded the Fayetteville Little Theatre, which would evolve into one of the finest theatres in the state of North Carolina. With the community's support the founding group was able to purchase a former movie theatre building at 1209 Hay Street. This would become the current three-story complex, which houses a 327-seat main stage. In 1986, the theatre changed its name to Cape Fear Regional Theatre to reflect its growing importance to southeastern North Carolina. CFRT receives support from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, The North Carolina Arts Council, and The Shubert Foundation. Season sponsors include Fayetteville Auto Mall and Addison Ridge.
