Burning Coal Theatre announces its 2013 Summer Theatre Conservatories!

SUMMER THEATRE CONSERVATORY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS (ALSO KNOWN AS "STC, JR.") will run for two weeks, June 10 - 21, 2013, Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. STC, Jr. costs $245 per student.

It is good for students in 6th through 8th grades and features movement, voice, improve and character study, and will culminate in the performance of a student-created play on the evening of June 21st.

SUMMER THEATRE CONSERVATORY FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS (also known as STC) will run for three weeks, July 8th - 26th, 2013, Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. STC costs $395 per student. It is for rising freshmen in high school to rising freshmen in college.

STC focuses on voice production, movement, Shakespearean text. Past guest teachers have included professionals like Joe Haj of PlayMakers and Preston Lane of Triad Stage, and professional educators like the Director of Education from Washington, DC's Folger Theatre and John Gulley of UNC-Greensboro. STC culminates in a rehearsed and fully staged production of a Shakespeare play - this year, Shakespeare The Winter's Tale, on the evenings of July 26th and 27th.
