Burning Coal Theatre Company will be hosting four improve companies in one night as part of "Improv Night @ Burning Coal" on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 8 pm, Burning Coal Theatre at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC.  Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.  Reservations may be made by calling Biological Necessities at 919-576-9422 or emailing them at biologicalnecessities@gmail.com.  For further information, visit Biological Necessities at www.bnimprov.com.

- NAME OF SHOW - "Improv Night @ Burning Coal" hosted by Andy Forrester.

The evening will be MC'd by Andy Forrester, a Raleigh based comedian.  --- Andy says: "Hey when you look like this, how can you NOT do comedy?" BiG "A" has been performing Improv Comedy for the last 10 years at Comedy Worx and Stand-Up for the last 5 years, mainly at Goodnight's Comedy Club, but he has been known to travel as well. In 2008 BiG "A" was selected as the winner of the Ultimate Comic Challenge, beating out 31 other comics for the title.  .

---The Swash Improv is a short form improv team from East Carolina University.  Started in 2002 by current UCB performer Corey Brown, Swash is made up and run by ECU students (Emily Weber, Nicky Jasper, Matt White, Matt See, Oliver Smith, Chris Timmons, Dwayne Murphy, Jimmy Galloway, Richard Turski, and Shalen Bryce Ennis).  They perform thirty minute to hour-long shows around ECU's campus and Eastern North Carolina for little to no cost.  Based off of the style of "Whose Line Is It Anyway," Swash encourages audience participation in almost every game they play.  It's fast paced, exciting short form improv - ECU style!

---Biological Necessities is a long form improv team that started in November of last year, but by no means are they new to the improv scene.  Collectively, there's more than 35 years of improv experience between them.  They came to be after representing NC State at the College Improv Tournament, taking second place in the Southeast Regional.  Now, almost a year later, BN has performed in Atlanta, New York City, Wilmington, and all around the Raleigh area.  They take one suggestion and present a variety of scenes based off that in a fast paced, clever show that you won't soon forget.  Biological Necessities features Chuck Givens, John Fowler, Vinny Fureel, Kevin Bragg, Mike Davidoff, Kate Mabe and Hobert Thompson.

---Hotel Principality is unlike anything you've seen before.  Made up of iO-trained students from ComedyWorx in Raleigh, NC, this musical improv group takes one suggestion and improvises a musical from beginning to end right before your very eyes. They perform regularly at ComedyWorx but they've been featured in the i3 improv festival and have performed in Durham, Chapel Hill, Fayetteville and New York City.  A staple of the Raleigh improv scene, Hotel Principality will put on a show you won't soon forget and includes Philip Boyne, Bryan Cronk, Jon Karnofsky, Christopher Moore, Brian Thacker, and Brandie Wagers with Molly Peacock on piano!

---PT Scarborough Is A Movie is a little something you might have seen before, and a little something new, all wrapped into one.  Veteran improviser PT Scarborough does the unimaginable: completely overdubbing the soundtrack to a motion picture, live before your eyes. Based on films the audience has randomly chosen, PT takes to the stage by himself to spin whatever's on-screen into comedy gold. What's the plot of the film? It doesn't matter! See your favorite films (and a lot of films that NO ONE has ever seen before) take a new twist with PT Scarborough Is A Movie!
