North Carolina Theatre and Broadway Series South are proud to announce the 2017-18 season on stage at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. This season will feature classics people know and love, as well as sensational new productions.

The season opens with the classic musical comedy GYPSY, where audiences join Mama Rose and her daughters in the last days of Vaudeville. This season also features family favorites, THE WIZARD OF OZ and Tony Award®-winning Disney's NEWSIES.
Two exciting new musicals, BRIGHT STAR and THE WONDER YEARS THE MUSICAL, are featured in this season's lineup. Tony Award®-nominated BRIGHT STAR, by the iconic Steve Martin and Edie Brickell comes to the state where the story is set in April 2018. North Carolina Theatre will also produce one of the first performances of THE WONDER YEARS THE MUSICAL. Based on the classic television show, this musical takes audiences on a trip down memory lane with Kevin, Winnie and Paul as they navigate coming of age in the 1960s.

GYPSY (November 14-19, 2017 | NC Theatre Production) The classic musical comedy about the last days of Vaudeville returns to the stage. GYPSY is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughter's success. Featuring one glorious hit after another, including "Let Me Entertain You," "Everything's Coming Up Roses," and many more.
LOVE LETTERS (January 12-21, 2018 | NC Theatre Production) Experience romance the old fashioned way with, LOVE LETTERS. A unique and imaginative piece that explores the many forms of love shared by childhood friends who remain pen pals for over 50 years, sharing every aspect of their lives with one another despite living in separate worlds.
THE WIZARD OF OZ (March 13-18, 2018 | NC Theatre & Broadway Series South Presentation) There truly is no place like home as the greatest family musical of all time, the wonderful WIZARD OF OZ, twists its way into Raleigh! The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends.
BRIGHT STAR (April 17-22, 2018 | NC Theatre & Broadway Series South Presentation) From Grammy, Emmy and Academy Award-winning Steve Martin and Grammy Award-winning Edie Brickell comes BRIGHT STAR, the five-time Tony-nominated new Broadway musical. This original musical tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and '40s.
THE WONDER YEARS THE MUSICAL (May 4-13, 2018 | NC Theatre Production) Inspired by the Emmy-winning television phenomenon, THE WONDER YEARS is a nostalgic new musical for the whole family. With a live 1960s soundtrack featuring the songs of the Beatles, The Beach Boys, and beyond, all set in the all-American suburbs of yesteryear.
Disney's NEWSIES (July 24-29, 2018 | NC Theatre Production) Disney's NEWSIES takes the stage. Adapted from the Disney film, New York City's newsboys seize the day when they strike against unfair working conditions. Experience the Tony Award®-winning musical that's thrilled audiences on Broadway and across the country.
