A Midsummer Night's Dream

Playmakers Repertory Company and The ArtsCenter are thrilled to announce the 2009 Summer Youth Conservatory production will be A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.

Kings & Queens! Lovers! Mechanicals! Faries! Bottom! and, of course, Puck!

There will be original music, dancing and stage combat included in this production. Students will also work with the area's best Shakespeare experts on text work.

Director Tom Quaintance will be back for his third summer to direct. Julie Fishell and Kathryn Hunter-Williams will be returning as Assistant Director and Acting Coach, respectfully.  David McClutchey will be working with students on stage combat and movement skills. Missy Barnes, musical theater professor from Catawba College, will be this summer's choreographer and Mark Lewis will be writing original music and this summer's Musical Director.

Auditions are February 21-22 with callbacks on February 23 at PlayMakers on the UNC campus. Those students ages 10-18 are encouraged to audition.  Not all characters will sing and/or dance, so please come audition even if these aren't your specialties, there will be parts for all!
