One night, six persons, three stories. A homeless man loves a diseased street musician yet is afraid to approach her. Two gay men in a bar seek intimacy yet do not feel like drawing near to each another. A man rings the wrong buzzer on a door and the woman who opens it invites him in. The characters talk about their encounters, and relive them. No great historical events, rather ordinary stories of people in a big city, people who feel alone yet get together for a while. Three life situations rendered with grittiness, intensity, and breathtaking urgency. Anja Hilling’s play, first performed in 2006 at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, has received numerous awards.
