The remarkable play by the award-winning contemporary British dramatist Mike Bartlett, premiered in 2010 in London, is inspired by Anton Chekhov. Focused too on the lives of three sisters, it spans the period from the 1960s to the distant future. In a burlesque form, Earthquakes in London tells the story of assuming responsibility for one’s own fate but also of belief in the future and confidence in the world, without which life does not make sense.
