Crouched, invisible in a dark corner of the stage, the studio or backstage, certainly they caught us all barefoot, were in our simple and daily routine of the tests or the more emotional and fragile of the shows. Dance, rather than a profession, it is a way of life and the film's title, a poem by Adília Lopes, brings us to the vulnerability of these lives. Will these images, guided by artists and all who work with us that certainly also pray the history of almost four decades of the Company.
But the beginning of this program comes from Kinsangani and reflects on the artistic responsibility. As being an artist is (or should be), above all, a matter of citizenship. The National Ballet is about to celebrate four decades of existence. Its genesis is the interpretation of the great classics and the permanent host of contemporary creations. Everyday life is rigorous for dancers, choreographers, musicians, testers, tailors, light technicians, sound and across a wide team that allows to scroll through the dance rehearsal rooms and stretch the corridors until you reach the stage. This film follows one hand creations, premieres and tours of the oldest dance company in the country and on the other, silent and structural work of each dancer.
