TROUBLE Comes to Teatro das Figuras This Weekend Image

The film director Gus Van Sant ventures out in his first stage creation, a musical-theatre show inspired by Andy Warhol and his overwhelming talent to elevate images to icons, while escalating as a persona and as an artist to the status of world celebrity. Gus Van Sant reconstructs Warhol's past, in the early stages of his career, through a fictional narrative built from real facts and memories, but also from imagination.

The actress Edie Sedgewick, who died too young, the north-american author Truman Capote or the art critic Clement Greenberg are some of the characters played by teenagers and young actors who, in this decontextualisation of age, test identities, with the emergence of Pop Art as a backdrop.

The sensibility, the proximity and the charisma of Gus Van Sant revive in "Trouble" the belief in being together and forming a collective or movement with the strength to change the world.
