Peter Webber Hosts Directing Workshop This Weekend

Director Peter Webber is set to host a film directing workshop in Lisbon this weekend, May 24 and 25.

The Portugal workshop follows a highly successful London workshop, which sold out in less than a week. There are only a few more open slots left.

This will be a great opportunity for participants to develop their skills in film directing with one of the greatest contemporary film directors. The workshop is limited to 25 participants.

This 2 day intensive workshop is a great opportunity to learn the techniques of film directing. Participation costs 425EUR per person. There are only a few open spots, so register fast!

Webber's film Girl with a Pearl Earring, starring Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth, marked Webber's feature film debut. The film received 3 Academy Award Nominations, 2 Golden Globe Nominations, 10 BAFTA Award Nominations and many others.

Webber also directed "Hannibal Rising" based on Thomas Harris' upcoming new book of the same name. Webber recently released "Emperor", starring Tommy Lee Jones and Mathew Fox.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics and will allow participants to receive direct instruction from Webber. Topics covered include film history, the realities of the film business in both Hollywood and Europe, aesthetics, casting and rehearsing, storyboarding, camera work and shooting strategy, planning for VFX, sound design, and more.

The workshop will be held at Universidade Lusofona, Campo Grande 376, 1749-024, Lisbon, Portugal. The workshop is designed for directors, film students, or anyone serious about a career in film directing, and will be held this weekend, 24-25 May 2014.
