The Book of Merman is a new musical comedy by Chicago’s Award-Winning playwright Leo Schwartz.
Story: When two Mormons missionaries, Elder Shumway and Elder Braithwaite get discouraged because they can’t find anyone to listen to them about the Mormon religion they think they see a sign from heaven when the see a doorbell marked E.M. Welcome! They have no idea that a certain Ethel will open the door.
With some dazzling parody music and original songs, laughter ensues throughout The Book of Merman as it takes you beyond parody and into a sweet story of self-awareness and acceptance, catapulting you to place you didn't know you wanted to go. Starring Amy Jo Halliday as Ethel Merman.
