Our Mother's Brief Affair
by Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain)
EVERY FAMILY HAS A SECRET
As Anna, sits on a park bench and as her son Seth explains to the audience that this is the umpteeth time she 'is dying' the two begin to share memories of years gone by.
Stories unfold and slowly, you begin to realize that Anna has been holding on to some secrets. And Seth, some resentments.
Are Anna's secrets true? Did they really happen? Or, is she just stringing her son and then her daughter along.
Fascinating play about family, love, regrets, and truth.
All of this, as Anna wears her Burberry trench coat, expensive scarf, sitting on a park bench. To which she states, "Is a costume of sophisticated adultery."
