triangle productions! continues its 24th season with the premiere of Wendy Westerwelle's newest creation, Medicare-fully Fabulous!

Wendy has been on Portland stages since the mid-1970s, and was the first supporting actress recognized by the Drammy Award Committee (known then as the Willie Awards) in 1979! She is best known for her 1982 musical, Soph! The Last of the Red Hot Mamas, a show she performed here and toured throughout the west coast with a two year stint in Los Angeles. In 1992 Wendy returned to the Portland stage with her one-woman show, Recovering from Myself(ves).

Now in her mid-60s, she's back with her new show, Medicare-fully Fabulous! Wendy has a new take on life - she calls it, "The last part before I drop dead." Join us as we welcome old favorites like Zumi, her manicurist, and her Aunt Golda from Miami. You'll also meet Dosha her Botox doctor, her dentist Dr. Rodriguez, and her new-age therapist Mallory. This courageous new work is a series of hopeful, inspiring, moving, hilarious, and extremely personal stories about aging, facial hair, sex drive (or the lack of it), fashion, being Jewish, and especially FOOD. In other words, life...according to Wendy.

Wendy has always treasured performing for the Portland community and beyond, but she views this show as a significant personal milestone. "Turning 65 is one of the reasons I wanted to do this show. My hope is to touch people and hopefully help others who are struggling with the same issues, and make them laugh out loud. I also felt the time was right to share how the changes I made in my life have literally kept me alive," she said after a recent read-through with producer and director, Don Horn. "I cannot wait to do this show," said Wendy. "Every moment of writing and rehearsing has been a complete joy. Oy, am I excited."
