When was the last time you were truly in the dark? What creatures lurk? What stories await? PETE's newest production, All Well, is a sightless sound-installation that will envelop audiences in the pitch black of an icebound ship. Audiences will travel through hidden spaces at Portland's Imago Theater, on a journey inspired by the doomed Franklin Expedition of 1845-48. Each performance will be limited to 25 audience members, who will experience the play from the comfort of their own hammock. We are called to venture into the unknown. What will you see in the darkness of the deep?
All Well is collaboratively conceived and created by an ensemble of PETE performers and designers: J?enny Ampersand,?R?obert Quillen Camp,?J?acob Coleman,?M?iranda K Hardy,?P?eter Ksander,?R?ebecca Lingafelter,?P?aige McKinney,?C?risti Miles,?M?ark Valadez?and A?mber Whitehall.? PETE's All Well is presented in partnership with T?hird Rail Repertory'?s W?ild Card?series.

And isn't it strange that the sound of sleeping is so much like the ocean when you listen to the breathing...
How long can you hold your breath?

All Well i?s the second body in PETE's T?he Journey Play is the Whole Thing: A Constellation of Art Objects, Events and Experience. T?hese productions, spanning at least 18 months, take us from a grog soaked tavern, into the depths of total darkness, out to sea in search of a lost limb, and on and on into the unknown.
Like stars in a constellation, in T?he Journey Play Is The Whole Thing e?vents, woven from the same material, spin out in interconnected patterns. We'll spill grog and sing sea-ballads in our salty cabaret D?rowned Horse Tavern.?In A?ll Well,?a sightless play, audiences will lie in hammocks, immersed in darkness and a story of expedition and shipwreck.
The audience's relationship with each character, song, and idea expands and evolves with every encounter. Each event exists as a whole, but together they constitute something larger, a brand new way of experiencing performance through time.
We stand on the verge of a potentially endless expanse, teeming with creative material, and like Ishmael, we embrace our desire to confront the leviathan. We have an ambitious journey ahead - j?oin us.
