NWCT closes the 25th Anniversary Season with our flagship production. What better way to celebrate our birthday, than with the boy who never grows up! This original adaptation first flew across our stage in 2012, and we can't wait to re-join Peter, Wendy, and friends as they befriend mermaids, battle pirates, and revel in the magic of imagination.
Peter Pan is a fast-paced, musical adaptation of the classic story by J.M. Barrie. This thrilling adventure follows the story of Peter Pan (Ryder Thompson), Wendy (Grace Malloy) and the Lost Boys, as they outsmart, outfight, and outfly Captain Hook (Andrés Alcalá) and his crew of cowardly pirates (including the hilarious Kevin Michael Moore as Smee). Peter and company will literally fly off the stage, courtesy of a little fairy dust from Flying By Foy.
Peter Pan first landed on the NWCT stage in 1995; the 2018 production marks his seventh appearance. In 2012, NWCT commissioned a new musical about the boy who never grows up, with an original script by Milo Mowery and score by Rodolfo Ortega. The new adaptation opened to back-to-back sell-out runs and marked NWCT Associate Artistic Director John Ellingson's first foray into the world of puppet design (he would later go on to create The Starlings - NWCT's resident bird-puppet troupe).
Peter Pan is the fourth and final production of NWCT's 25th Anniversary Season. All four shows this season feature NWCT's new Sensory Friendly Performances. With shorter run-times, no intermission, reduced or removed lighting and sound cues, and the constant presence of house lights, these performances are specially designed for children on the autism spectrum or with other sensory sensitivities. These performances are offered free of charge. Sign-interpreted and Audio-described performances are offered for all productions as well.
