Lakewood Theatre Company will present in December 2017 an all-new version of their annual Holiday Magic Breakfast Theatre production with the presentation of The Peppermint Bear Show 2017: Peppermint Bear and the Giant Elf.
Performances will be in Lakewood Center's Community Meeting Room Dec. 2, 9, 10, 16, 17, 22 & 23 at 11:30 AM all days. There will also be 9:30 AM shows on Dec. 9, 16, 22 & 23. The theatre is located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. The show is sponsored, in part, by Banner Bank in Lake Oswego.

The story: Santa's workshop is in a tizzy when his chair and then magic jingle bells go missing. The giant slips in with plans to become the new, and much, much bigger Santa Claus, and uses the magic jingle bells to take control of the elves to get what he wants. Sally, a young girl whose father assists at the north pole, and Peppermint Bear learn to use "teamwork," hoping to make everything right before Christmas is ruined.
The performers from area high schools include Ava Anderson, Sydney Heim, Kierra Koehn, Ethan LaFrance, Maggie Kate Madziarczyk, Madison Morley, Grady Penna, Asher Ross, Troy Sawyer, and Kylie Zeman. The show also features a special guest appearance by A Man in a Red Suit.
The Peppermint Bear Show 2017: Peppermint Bear and the Giant Elf is directed and choreographed by Michael Snider, The book and lyrics are by Michael Snider with music by Kurt Misar. Light design is by Kurt Herman, the stage manager is Micah Nicholas, and the producer is Steve Knox.
The Peppermint Bear Show first premiered at Portland's Lipman's Department Store, which then became Fredrick and Nelson. It became a popular Holiday tradition for over 30 years. Since that time the show has been produced in New York and countless cities on the east coast, mid-west and Hawaii.
Lakewood's annual Holiday Breakfast Theatre production is celebrating its 26th year. Audience members enjoy a special holiday continental breakfast 1/2 hour before the show and performers interact with young audience members to help them celebrate the holidays. The performance is suitable for ages 3-12. ?? Welcome back Peppermint Bear!
