Regarding the purpose of the benefit concert:
"As an artist, it is easy to feel paralyzed by the many atrocities occurring in our country's political system because art is not directly tied to politics. However, a gathering of artists for others is a powerful conduit for action because it can inspire change in others through music and storytelling. It also speaks to the most hopeful parts of ourselves, as music is a universal language in itself. Our hope with RISE UP, is to raise significant funds for an organization whose sole mission is to protect the civil rights of all and join together as a community to oppose "
Monday, February 20 @ 7:00pm, Artists Repertory Theatre, 1515 SW Morrison St.. Tickets: $25; http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2872655
