Portland Revels present their first-ever Revels Salon, featuring Professor Stepan Simek, Theater Department faculty member at Lewis and Clark College, and Director of our recent Victorian and Italian Christmas Revels shows on Thursday October, 22.

Simek's interest in ritual and diverse culture first led him to Revels as a fan and then as show director. He will share his enthusiasm and expertise on the ritual roots of theater at 7:30pm this Thursday, October 22. Participants can expect some wondrous images and much food for thought about how both ritual and theater enrich our lives. The salon will take place at 7:30pm at Revels Board Director Kate Schuyler's house (1924 NE 36th Ave) near Grant High School.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is requested. Advance registration fee is $20, and registration at the door is $25. To pre-register, please call the Revels office at 503-274-4654 or email them at info@portlandrevels.org The evening will begin with a casual reception at 7:30 pm, including chat, appetizers, and beverages. Professor Simek will speak at 8:00 pm, and his remarks will be followed with sweets and conversation.
