The Netherlands' NRC Handelsblad describes Lugansky as "a pianistic phenomenon of exceptional class."
Hailed as the next in the line of great Russian pianists, Nikolai Lugansky has been a prizewinner at the Tchaikovsky International Competition, the International Bach Competition, and the All-Union Rachmaninoff Competition, among others. Lugansky has collaborated with major symphony orchestras in Russia, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and the USA and with over one hundred and seventy conductors. Nikolai Lugansky has been awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Russia.
