Portland Ovations is pleased to present Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical as the next installment of its Family Series for the 2010-11 season. Based on the award-winning picture book by famed children's author and illustrator, Mo Willems, with music by Grammy Award-winning composer, Michael Silversher, the performance takes place on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium.
Recently commissioned by The Kennedy Center, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical tells the story of a little girl's first trip to the local laundromat with her Daddy and her favorite stuffed bunny. Chock full of adventure, song and gigantic dancing laundry, this musical is geared for children aged four and older.
If you've ever felt lost, then you'll know just how Trixie's stuffed Knuffle Bunny feels when he's left all alone. If you've ever felt loved, then you'll know just how Trixie, Knuffle Bunny, and their family feel when they're together. It sounds so simple, just a quick trip to the laundromat with Daddy, Trixie, and her beloved Knuffle Bunny. But, before you know it things go horribly, hilariously wrong, including a Daddy's first time dealing with his child going "boneless."
Ovations Offstage is hosting a family event at the Portland Public Library's Children's Room on Saturday, March 5th at 10:30 a.m. Children can bring their Knuffle Bunnies for some story reading, an art project and a chance to win tickets to see Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical.
