What's in a name? Well next week the right name means a great deal at Portland Center Stage.
March 10th through March 15th, 2009 has officially become "Charlie Week" at Portland Center Stage. What does that mean?
Anyone with the name Charlie (or Charles or Chuck) can get as many tickets as they like to one of that week's performances of How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found for just $25 each.
They can order their tickets online at http://www.pcs.org/disappear (Enter the password DISAPPEAR) or flash an id at the box office showing themselves to be authentically Charlie.
Its not easy being Charlie. Hopefully this special offer will help lighten the load.
Running through March 22
In the Ellyn Bye Studio
"You are who you can prove you are. You are what people think and that's the easiest thing in the world to change." - Mike
If you had to disappear from your life, who would you call first? In this thrilling new play, a young advertising executive reaches the breaking point and decides to drop out as quickly as possible. So he digs up a shoestring relation in a seedy corner of the country who can give him a quick and detailed lesson in the art of escape. The mission? To dispose of everything that defined his former self. It's an adrenaline-charged, apocalyptic journey to the edge of existence. Like a live and intense Blade Runner meets Memento, How To Disappear will have you questioning everything that makes us who we are in the 21st Century.
Running time: 2 hours and 10 minutes with one intermission.
