October 2, Tuesday, the Portland Civic Theatre Guild kicks off its 60th Anniversary season with Foxfire by Susan Cooper and Hume Cronyn at The Sanctuary, home of triangle productions!

Foxfire will be the October 2 reading for the Portland Civic Theatre Guild's First Tuesday Readers Theatre. The play will be presented at 10:30 am on Tuesday October 2 at The Sanctuary (home of triangle productions!). The Sanctuary is located at 1785 NE Sandy Blvd. Tickets, available at the door, are $10.00 and include coffee and light refreshments.

It's the early 1980's and 79 year old widow, Annie Nations, sits on the porch of the family farm, Stony Lonesome , in a clearing on a mountainside in rural Raburn County Georgia. At night, a lichen called foxfire glows on the dead fallen trees in the dark Appalachian forest around her. This love story with songs, originally written for Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn, illuminates themes of then and now, holding on and letting go, living and dying.

Directed by David Mitchum Brown, the play stars Virginia Howe Kincaid, Del Lewis, Benjamin Tissell, Tiffany Groben, and Alex Trull.

We look forward to seeing you at Foxfire. Complimentary coffee, tea and refreshments at 10:00 am followed by the reading at 10:30.
