Oregon Children's Theatre Presents A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD Image

To celebrate OCT's 30th season, we're reviving this award-winning musical! Best friends, Frog and Toad, have an adventure for each season of the year: sledding down snowy hills, planting springtime flowers, splashing in summer swimming holes, and raking up autumn leaves. Along their way, they celebrate the differences that make each of them unique, but also makes their friendship so special.

Based on the children's book classics by Arnold Lobel, A Year With Frog & Toad first premiered in 2002 in Minneapolis before its debut in New York in 2003. It was nominated for three Tony awards, including Best Musical. Oregon Children's Theatre produced the show in 2013 and it was the winner of seven Drammy awards, including Outstanding Musical. Dani Baldwin directed 2013's A Year With Frog & Toad and is back for the 30th anniversary revival.

"I'm thrilled to be bringing back A Year With Frog & Toad with this exciting cast," said Baldwin. "What I love most about this production is the joy that surrounds it. The music is wonderful, the characters are lovable, plus performing it as a vaudeville show makes it a unique experience. I love the joy that I saw in the faces of children as they watched it, as well as the adults! I look forward to all these elements coming together to find theater magic again."

The cast features Charles Grant as Frog, James Sharinghousen as Toad, Colin Kane as Snail, Lauren Burton and Katie McClanan as Squirrels, Sophia Takla as Mouse, and Megan Carver as Lady Bird.

The creative team includes: Dani Baldwin (Director), Jeffrey Childs (Musical Director), Tal Sanders (Scenic Designer), Kristeen Willis Crosser (Lighting Designer), Sarah Gahagan (Costume Designer), Sara Mishler Martins (Choreographer), Cecil Averett (Sound Designer), and Jeffrey Duncan (Props Master).
