The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, as part of its OSF Presents series, will feature Robin Goodrin Nordli's Bard Babes, a humorous and touching look at the joys and challenges of taking on the characters of William Shakespeare.

The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth.

"Bard Babes is a piece I wrote for those who know Shakespeare and for those who don't," said Ms. Nordli. "I wanted to demystify the acting experience for the audience and share with them some of the pleasures and pitfalls of playing Shakespeare from an actor's point of view. I also wanted to do it with a sense of humor. My overall goal is to lighten up the topic, and share with audiences my love of playing Shakespeare's women. For this performance at OSF I am lucky enough to be assisted by OSF veteran actor Michael Elich. The show runs approximately an hour, and I guarantee you will laugh, and you will learn something."

Ms. Nordli has performed Bard Babes at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Shakespeare Association of America, Shakespeare Authorship Conference, Holland America Cruise line "Shakespeare at Sea", Willamette Repertory Theatre, Riverside Repertory Theatre, Southern Oregon University and Ashland New Plays Festival.

In its second year, OSF Presents is a pilot program designed to give Oregon Shakespeare Festival artists (who have worked with OSF in the past two seasons) the arena to share their art with the public community on a larger scale than they may be able to do independently. The artists are a mix of company, Green Show guest artists, playwrights (invited through the BLACK SWAN Lab), and guest designers/directors. Proceeds from the show are shared by the artist and OSF.
