Fuse Theatre Ensemble Holds Auditions For PARADISE PARK 1/17

Fuse Theatre Ensemble is holding auditions for "Paradise Park" on Sunday January 17th from 10 am to 6 pm. Auditions will be five minutes long and consist of reading sides from the script, which will be provided. Please bring your headshot and resume. Callbacks will be on Monday January 18th from 4 to 10 pm. Auditions and callbacks will be held at Theater!Theater! (3430 SE Belmont St.). Rehearsals will start in late March / early April on Sunday through Thursday evenings. The show runs from May 13th through June 12th. Rehearsals and performances will be at Theater!Theater! There is a stipend for the actors.

Synopsis: Charles L. Mee, Jr.'s "Paradise Park" is a rich, wild play set in an amusement park that opens into America where the characters are on a carnival ride exploring, negotiating and searching for their path. Please read the play before auditioning, which is available online by clicking here, to get an idea of the range of these characters' thoughts, dreams and fears.

Character breakdown:

Ella - female (can be anywhere from 25-45), potential for a relationship with Benny
Nancy - female, mother of Darling (can be anywhere from 35-50), negotiating her relationship with Morton
Darling - 16, daughter of Nancy and Morton, ready to explore life and love
Benny - male (can be anywhere from 25-45), latest arrival in the park, potential for a relationship with Ella
Morton - male, father of Darling (can be anywhere from 35-50), negotiating his relationship with Nancy
Jorge - male (can be anywhere from 25-40), man about park
Vikram - male (can be anywhere from 20-50), tour guide in a mouse suit
Edgar (Bergen) - male (can be anywhere from 30-60), observant ventriloquist
Charlie (McCarthy) - plays Edgar's dummy
Mortimer (Snerd) - plays Edgar's dummy
Ensemble - includes Bob, Ticket Taker, circus/vaudeville acts, puppeteers
Actors of all ethnicities and ages are encouraged to apply.
