Experience Theatre Project, in conjunction with the City of Beaverton and The Round LLC, proudly present Shakespeare's The Tempest, at The Round in Beaverton, June 23rd- July 15th 2017. The production is adapted for The Round and is all ages and absolutely free to the public.
Join ETP summer of 2017, as we take you on an adventure to an enchanted island, where a powerful Sorcerer rules, with the help of its supernatural natural residents. The production is themed in the imagined zeitgeist of the Victorian Era- Steampunk, and plays with elements of time and technology. ETP will collaborate with local makers, magicians, and artisans to create innovative set, prop, and costume pieces inspired by this subculture, as well as some prestidigitation that will both amaze and excite audiences.
The show will be the second Shakespeare production at The Round, which has again been given special permission from the City of Beaverton to produce this show in this beautiful space. It will feature two special productions, a live simulcast in Spanish on June 29th, 2017 and an ASL interpreted show on July 9th, 2017.
This show is made possible in part by a generous grant from The Oregon Cultural Trust.
ETP will hold open auditions for The Tempest on April 1st, 2017 at the Beaverton Public Library Auditorium. ETP will also participate in PATA Unified Shakespeare Auditions February 10-11 in downtown Portland.
