Join Resonance Ensemble for an evening of cocktails and provocative, heart-wrenching hilarity as they present a cabaret-style, live music variety show at the unique and recently renovated Curious Comedy Theater (5225 NE MLK Blvd), located conveniently in Northeast Portland. The fun, hosted by Portland's very own version of Liberace, David Saffert, begins on Saturday, February 25th at 8:00 pm, with an additional "cocktail hour show" on Sunday, February 26th at 4:00 pm. General admission tickets are $30, with discounts available for seniors, youth, and artists. To order tickets, visit resonancechoral.org or call: (503) 427-8701.

The title of the show comes from a quote attributed to composer Erik Satie. Satie worked as a pianist at Le Chat Noir, thought to be the first modern cabaret - a nightclub where the patrons sat at tables and drank alcoholic beverages while being entertained by a variety show on stage. Satie disliked his own cabaret work, claiming, "it is more stupid and dirty than anything."

Artistic Director Katherine FitzGibbon is thrilled to offer Dirty, Stupid Music again, after 2014's sold-out performance. "These are incredible singers and stage performers who will move audiences to tears of laughter and emotion. Producing the show at Curious Comedy Theatre, with its brand-new projector screens, beautiful stage lighting, and recently updated sound system, will allow us to add exciting visual elements to this show - and we can't forget to mention the great food and drinks!"

The impressive ensemble cast includes the resumes of five local and regional singing actors who have performed all over the Northwest. The show features Vakare Petroliunaite, Beth Madsen Bradford, Erik Hundtoft, and Stacey Murdock and will be hosted and accompanied by the talented pianist & Liberace impersonator David Saffert as 'Mr. Showmanship,' bringing to life the flamboyant & rhinestone-studded entertainer.
