Tyler McKenzie is an actor, singer, and dancer who has recently played the role of George Eacker in Hamilton: An American Musical on Broadway in New York. He joins the official Hamilton tour for the 2018 season, and he is currently performing in the show at Keller Auditorium in Portland until April 8.
Mr. McKenzie was born on Long Island. He attended High School at the prestigious Central Academy of Technology and Arts in Monroe, NC. He then matriculated at one of the premier musical theatre programs in the country, Western Carolina University, where he worked closely with Broadway legends Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise. He graduated in 2013.
Tyler has performed in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia and the national tour of Matilda The Musical. He has a passion for education and is excited to take part in this masterclass in Corvallis! Follow the journey on Instagram @thisistylermckenzie.
On April 2, 2018, he will work one-on-one with aspiring young local, high school, and college-aged singers in an exclusive masterclass held at Corvallis High School. The audience will have the opportunity to witness a master in his element as he shapes and improves the selected participants' performances and talks about what it takes to make it on Broadway. This is certainly a rare occasion in the Corvallis area and should not be missed! Divided into three separate sessions, these sessions are one day only.
The sessions will feature the following:
• 4:30 PM will feature 6 aspiring singers
• 6:30 PM will feature 6 aspiring singers
• 8:30 PM** will feature 7 singers from Oregon State University
