This Lime Tree Bower by Conor McPherson opens Friday! How many Irishmen does it take to create a vision of the Emerald Isle in Portland? In this case, just one, and we've got him three times over!

This Lime Tree Bower by Conor McPherson opens Friday, May 7 at CoHo Theater.
Co-produced with Our Shoes Are Red/The Performance Lab,
and directed by Devon Allen.

McPherson's break-out play is performed by Matthew DiBiasio, Matthew Micucci, and Dennis Kelly. The interweaving monologues of Frank, Joe, and Ray reveal their stories. Within the setting of a Dublin seaside town, we ride the waves through the heights of humour and the depths of sorrow, ultimately anchoring down in the full realm of human existence. Each winds up in a place of his own making; we find ourselves fascinated by the journey each takes and can compare their destinations with our own. Lively and unsettling, you are sure to find your creative center shifted watching these young men traverse the full range of Irish character.

Continuing through May 23 with Third Rail, The Gray Sisters by Craig Wright

Once you've seen our three gents' monologues, you'd better go see what these four sisters have to say in theirs! Craig Wright, who wrote Recent Tragic Events, the co-production of which garnered Drammy Awards for Third Rail Repertory and CoHo Productions in 2005, wrote The Gray Sisters specifically for Third Rail's luminous actresses. Gretchen Corbett, Stephanie Gaslin, Maureen Porter, and Valerie Stevens star as four sisters who unravel their family's history, and in the process grapple with questions of love, loyalty, faith, and fate. This is a stunning production, such a treat for Portland and our friends at Third Rail, and highly recommended by CoHo Productions. Tickets are on sale now!
