DANCE AND DRUM AT WEST AFRICAN TRADITION DAYS!

Our next Tradition Days takes place THIS SUNDAY, August 27, from 3-9 PM in Lake Oswego. Celebrate the music, song, drumming and dance of West Africa! Dana Shephard and Derrell Sekou Soumah Walke from Kukatonon African Children's Dance Troupe will teach traditional African drumming and dance for all ages.

They'll have a few drums to share or bring your own! Betsy Branch, our associate music director, will lead "Band of Fools". Make music in a group with whatever instrument (and skill level) you'd like to bring. And Leela Grace will again be teaching by-ear harmony singing. A West African dinner will be available for purchase at the event from Black Star Grill.

In the evening, we'll be hosting a pub sing around the pool and firepit. This event is being hosted at the beautiful home of one of our community members-come enjoy the lovely gardens and gazebo while you sing, dance, play and drum.
