GÓREC KI / LUTOS?AWSKI / PENDERECKI at Teatr Wielki - Opera Narodowa, Moniuszko Auditorium

In 2013, to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Witold
Lutos?awski as well as the round, 80th birthday anniversaries
of two other prominent Polish composers: Henryk Miko?aj Górecki, who passed away in 2010, and Krzysztof Penderecki, the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera is staging a special concert dedicated to these three great composers. Beside works by the above artists, the concert will feature the world premiere of Bryce Dessner’s composition, commissioned by the National Audiovisual Institute for the Year of Witold Lutos?awski celebration, inspired by the music of the Polish composer. Bryce Dessner, music composer and instrumentalist, is known to Polish audiences especially as a member of the indie rock band The National. The organizer of this project is the National Audiovisual Institute.
