Excellent performances, Musical Gala, concerts, conferences, film screenings, book premieres and meetings with artists. The Musical Theater in Poznań organizes the TIME FOR THEATER festival. From September 28 to October 9, Poznań will become the capital of theater and musicals. After a successful first edition, TIME FOR THEATER is taking on the character of a full-scale festival. At the turn of September and October, a real festival of theaters is being prepared in Poznań, the main idea of which is the Polish-Ukrainian-German cultural bridge. For 12 festival days, you will be able to see performances by theaters not only from Poland, but also by artists from beyond our eastern and western borders. Two Ukrainian and two German performances will be presented, and a conference "POLAND - GERMANY - UKRAINE" is scheduled for October 3 and 4. Neighborhood – stereotypes – empathy – cooperation.

One of the most important events of this edition will be the Musical Gala. We will hear songs from high-profile premieres in recent seasons, such as SIX, Pilots, West Side Story, Something Rotten, Pretty Woman, Miss Saigon, Next to Normal and Catch Me , If You Can. There will also be a repertoire of the Gala organizer, the Musical Theater in Poznań - there will be songs from Kombinat, Virtuoso, Irena and the latest premiere of Singing In The Rain. This evening, the results of the National Plebiscite for the Best Musical Premieres of the 2022/2023 Season will be announced in eight categories (best premiere, actress, actor, song, director, set design, choreography and costumes). The Musical Gala with the finale of the premiere plebiscite will take place on October 2 at 7:00 p.m. on the stage of the Musical Theater in Poznań. The concert itself will also be repeated on October 3 at 19:00.

The biggest surprise is the news that 1989 will come to Poznań for the THE TIME FOR THEATER festival, honored with awards and excellent reviews - a co-production of the Teatr im. Juliusz Slowacki Theater in Krakow and the Gdansk Shakespeare Theater. This is a performance directed by Katarzyna Szyngiera, whose form refers to the Hamilton. He introduced rap to Broadway by proposing a fresh language of telling history, attractive to both young and older audiences. 1989 shows the fall of communism from a new perspective. Events known from newsreels and history books come to life on stage through the eyes of three fascinating couples. In the lives of the Frasyniuks, Walesas and Kuronies, ideas compete with love, enthusiasm collides with the weight of history, and heroism is intertwined with family tragedies. Viewers will accompany the characters in iconic moments - during the strikes in the shipyard and at the Round Table - but also in intimate moments. moments of joy and suffering experienced in the privacy of People's Republic of Poland apartments or prison cells. One of the best Polish rap producers is responsible for the sound of the musical - Andrzej Mikosz Webber, known, among others, for his long-term cooperation with Lona. The 1989 performance can be seen at Aula Artis in Poznan on October 3 at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The next title we will see during the festival is 5:00 AU on October 5 at 5:30 p.m. Several dozen actresses from Ukraine created a performance in which they share with us their experiences and experiences from the first days of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, their escape with their children to Poland, and their stay in our country. The performance consists of a number of scenes created on the basis of improvisation, connected by the theme of war. They include serious, dramatic and tragic scenes, all the more moving because they are true, but there are also pictures from a protest cabaret with songs and choreography. We watch a poetic-documentary record of feelings, impressions and experiences that form a stage letter of Ukrainian women - first to Poles, then to the whole world. The show was created by artists from Ukraine as part of an artistic residency under the patronage of the Forum of Theater Directors of the Silesian Voivodeship. On the same day at 20:00, also in the Artis Auditorium, The Island will be presented. It is a fairy-tale musical telling the story of Eilidh - a teenage resident of Kinnan, who no longer has any peers around her. She remains under the care of her grandmother because her mother had to leave to look for a job, like almost all her neighbors and friends. The lives of Eilidh and the islanders change on the day the youngest inhabitant of the island finds a whale washed ashore. The performance of the Chamber Theater in Bydgoszcz, directed by Agnieszka Ploszajska, is the Polish premiere of the musical Islander, winner of the Musical Theater Review's Best Musical award. The Musical Theater in Gdynia will present a play directed by Marek Sadowski Generation Relay. A musical Comedy For Two Actors And An Exceptionally Sober Pianist. He finds out it's the last year he will spend his stay at the theater sharing a dressing room with a fresh graduate of a theater school. Oskar (played by Filip Bielinski), full of youthful ideals, armed with a diploma and untainted the realities of life, the mind ruthlessly enters the master's everyday life. Will they be able to find a common language or will the age difference prove to be an impossible gap? Viewers will find out about this on Sunday, October 1 at 4:00 p.m. in the Polish Dance Theater. In the same space on October 6 at At 7:30 p.m. there will be a performance directed by Carsten Kirchmeier under the musical direction of Matthias Stötzel about an absolute legend of cinema. Marlene und die Dietrich is a musical biography of an extraordinary woman played by Gudrun Schade. It's a story about a film goddess, a style icon, but also a wife and mother, extremely adept at juggling numerous love affairs, and a woman who enjoyed recognition in the USA, while in her native Germany she was considered a traitor.
