New premiere in Wroclaw Mime Theatre
The performance is inspired by Tadeusz Różewicz's short story Sin.
The producers focus on building a reality embedded in the structures of war: social, educational and family model, what to do and how it should work. How we treat emotions, anger, rage, your weaknesses? The theme is the swallowed emotions, holding them ineffably. It is about fear, grief and need.
To see a show without words is to be imaginative at our highest level. It's a little weird in begging but once you feel it you're in it. Afterwards, it's even difficult to use words to describe this experience.
There are 5 actors who "tell" their story hidden in the daily chores. Looking at this, I wondered: can everyday life be an art? Well, I have one thing to say: it should be. There is a particular link with feelings and our daily life, emotions are not exhibited from time to time, they are everywhere and what a great tribute to pay them on stage. We are what we are every day, day in and day out.
Sitting in the audience, you would not only feast your imagination but also fall in music (big thumbs up to Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, Katarzyna Kapela). What an explosion!
You would also appreciate the words when they are gone. You would see a family (Agnieszka Dziewa, Sandra Kromer-Gorzelewska, Anna Nabiałkowska, Monika Rostecka, Artur Borkowski), they seem bland, even their costumes are almost the same and they blend in with the furniture. What they did too, but the emotions... The emotions are there, different feelings are there, hard to hide, sooner or later they pierce through every activity and I think it's beautiful.
This piece is a celebration of life, of life and of us as we are. It has a strong message hidden in the cleaning, having a dinner and the closing of the doors. Director Daria Kopiec did a great performance of the daily routine. It is necessary, although so neglected in our time, we want speed, noise, effectivenest, something exeptional avery day, words cease to mean. So let's go to this show to live, really experience the stop and a different look at what's going on around us every day and try to think about what's behind it. Because there is something for sure.
