This season, the PSO celebrates composers who make Pittsburgh their home. The featured composers are: David Stock, Leonardo Balada, Nancy Galbraith, Patrick Burke, Bomi Jang, Mathew Rosenblum, Reza Vali and Amy Williams.
Highlights include the PSO celebrating David Stock's 75th birthday by commissioning a world-premiere for the opening of the BNY Mellon Grand Classics season.
Also, in February 2014, five different composers collaborate in a five-part commission inspired by Pittsburgh's environmental history and the natural elements of fire, earth, water, air and metal.
