Shakespeare's side-splittingly hilarious comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor, full of mistaken identity, disguises, and all kinds of crazy hijinks. The production also features an additional metatheatrical layer with scenes of Shakespeare and the Lord Chamberlain's Men struggling to fulfill Queen Elizabeth's directive of a play "about the fat knight (Falstaff) in love" with staggeringly short notice. Directed by Bob Colbert and additional scenes written by Colbert, Ella Mizera, and Christine McGrath, and featuring a cast including Colbert (Simonides and others in Pericles, 2021), McGrath (Marina and Thaisa in Pericles, 2021), Ella Mizera (Malcolm in Macbeth, 2022), Anne Rematt (Hamlet in Hamlet, 2018) and SCSC newcomer Lauren Scheller-Wolf, The Merry Wives of Windsor is not to be missed! Performances are July 23, 24, 30, and 31 at 2 pm at Barry G. Schell Bronx Field.
