YLT is proud to present the world premier of Shared Assets, a new play by Pennsylvania Playwright Julie Cullings. Shared Assets takes a comic look at corporate America and presents the battle between the owner of a diner and a corporate vice president for the future of a promising florist.
"This is purely a fun show," says YLT Guest Director Wayne Mundis. "There are no lessons to take away and nothing to think about. It's just a very funny show." Mundis adds that it is entertaining and appropriate for all ages except younger children.

The story, which takes place in a Midwestern diner, centers around Diner owner Ann, played by Claudia Shanaman. Ann is a woman who used to be a corporate vice president and has been beaten down; however she is coming back on her own two, strong, independent feet. Her foe is corporate vice president Natalie, played by Dani Hoy, who is a former beauty pageant queen and has slept her way to the top of corporate America. Natalie's mother, trailer trash from Idaho, played by Sharon Bibb, provides what Mundis describes as "Estelle Gedde humor." Taylor Shenberger plays the ditsy young blonde waitress who wants "more than love," she wants a man with a large expense account; and Brittne Giannone plays Helen, the florist and former employee of Natalie's corporation, who has a passion for Unicorns which irritates Natalie.

Mundis loves directing this small ensemble. "With small casts I can take time to get their input on their characters," he explains. "It's the actors who give life to the characters. But since this is the first time these characters have ever been brought to life, each actor has even more freedom to establish her character's identity."

Playwright Cullings will be in the audience for Opening Night. Performances are on June 18, 19, and 24, 25, 26 at 8 p.m.; and on June 20 and 27 at 3 p.m. Shared Assets is part of the Columbia Gas Season, and is sponsored by Dr. Wayne Mundis. Tickets are $10 -20. More information and tickets are available by calling the box office at 717-854-5715, 11 - 6, Monday through Friday, or visiting www.ylt.org.
